A MAN has been arrested after armed police rushed to an early-morning disturbance in Gourock.
We reported previously how a heavy police presence was seen outside a block of flats on Shore Street.
Items appeared to have been thrown out of a flat onto the road below, reported out sister title the Greenock Telegraph.
Police Scotland has now said the man was “causing a disturbance and vandalising property” at the flat.

A woman in the flat was found safe and well.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “At around 6.15am, police and emergency services were called to a report that a man was causing a disturbance and vandalising property at a flat in Shore Street, Gourock.
“Officers, including firearms officers, attended and, following negotiations with police, the man was detained within the house at around 8am.
“The female householder was found safe within and did not require any medical treatment.
“The man has been taken to Inverclyde Royal Hospital for treatment.
“A 47-year-old man has been arrested and will be the subject of a report to the Procurator Fiscal in connection with the incident.”
