TRIBUTES have flooded in to a brave young Celtic fan as his family laid him to rest.

Little Shay McGinlay captured Scotland's hearts with his fierce battle against cerebal palsy, with campaigners keen to raise cash to provide vital equipment and specialist treatment.

However, following news of the four-year-old's death last month, dozens of tributes have been made to the avid Hoops supporter.

In a post confirming his funeral had taken place, the Walk with Shay group said: "So very sad to say goodbye to Shay today.

"Our hearts are breaking for Mary, Tam, Myla and all their family.

"Sleep well wee man, you’ll never be forgotten and You’ll Never Walk Alone Shay Bhoy."

Hundreds have liked and shared the post and left their condolences for the youngster's heartbroken family.

One wrote: "You served him so well in his short but inspirational little life.

"Hold your heads high, and carry Shay in your hearts (as I know you all will).

"Sending all our love to Shay’s devastated parents."

While another said: "Such sad news.

Rest in peace Shay.

"Thoughts with all his loving family."

The group also thanked Shay's beloved club and its foundation for arranging a tribute at Parkhead in the days following his death.
