A MAN has been hospitalised after he was stabbed in a Castlemilk street.

The Evening Times revealed Lainshaw Drive, at Blaeloch Drive, was shut off by police on Monday night around 8pm.

A spokeswoman for the force has now confirmed a 21-year-old man was stabbed around 7.40pm.

He was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital by ambulance for treatment.

Medics say he remains in serious but stable condition.

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesman said crews were alerted to an incident at 7.41pm.

One ambulance and a 3RU unit - which responds to out-of-hospital cardiac arrest calls - were dispatched to the scene.

He added: “We transported one male patient in his twenties to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.”

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Police were called at 7.40pm on Monday, April 15, after a 21-year-old man was stabbed at Lainshaw Drive, near to Drakemire Drive.

"He was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he remains for treatment.

"Medical staff described his condition as serious but stable.
