Heavy rainfall has caused major disruption to flights and rail services this evening.

Dramatic video footage shows the roundabout outside Edinburgh Airport completely submerged in water, with some cars flooded past their windows.

And although the adverse weather may not be falling directly onto Glasgow, it is most certainly impacting its public transport.

ScotRail confirmed part of the railway at Winchburgh has been flooded due to the rain, causing services in and out of Glasgow Queen Street to be majorly disrupted.

A tweet read: "Heavy rain has flooded the railway at Winchburgh, between Linlithgow & Edinburgh. The line has been closed.

"This affects our Edinburgh – Glasgow Queen Street High Level and Edinburgh – Dunblane services. Staff are on site now monitoring the flooding."

There are still trains running between Edinburgh and Glasgow Central.

ScotRail have asked any passengers to postpone their journey if possible to do so.
