A MATCHDAY seller is punting £10 Peaky Blinders Billy Boy hats close to the stadium on Old Firm Day.

The unique hat is being sold on the back of this week’s episode of Peaky Blinders in which the notorious Glasgow gang made their debut.

The seller, who did not want not be named, said he brought the caps for the Old Firm for Rangers fans to wear.

He added that they had been selling well as he shouted the slogan, 'Get your Peaky Blinders' Billy Boy hats'.

One buyer Jamie Burt, 32, from Larkhall, bought the hat to celebrate his birthday.

The flat cap is known as a Newsboy hat and they were fashionable for men in the 1920s.

The Billy Boys debut on the show received a backlash from viewers this week who weren’t convinced by the hardmen Glaswegian accent.

In violent scenes shown in episode two of the hit show, which is set in post World War I Birmingham, the Bridgeton gang made a chilling entrance to deliver a message to Peaky Blinders leader Tommy Shelby, played by Cillian Murphy.

The brutal scenes showed the murder of the son of gypsy Aberama Gold, played by Aidan Gillen - but fans of the series couldn't see past that accent.
