THE DEVASTATED brother of a teenager killed after being struck by a van in Glasgow’s east end has said his life “is never going to be the same.”

Tributes have poured in the 18-year-old, named locally as Liam Hendry, following the incident in Barrowfield Road near to Celtic Park yesterday morning.

Another man, aged 30, is left fighting for his life in hospital.

Emergency services were called to the scene at around 6.45am where medics began treating Liam, however he passed away at the scene.

As news of his death started to circulate online, his brother Marc shared a picture of the pair and their dad.

In an emotional tribute, he wrote: “My heart is broken.

“Lost not only my wee baby brother but also one of my best friends.

“My life is never going to be the same”.

His friend, Rab Haugh, also paid tribute to the young Celtic fan.

He wrote: “He was simply ‘a great wee guy’ – daft as a brush, funny and with a heart of gold.

“In the year that we’ve lost two Celtic legends, the wee man will be up there pestering them about their favourite games, best players played with and he’ll be telling them he was a ‘better keeper than Craig Gordon’ (he was)!

“Sleep tight wee man. Posted with much love and genuine affection. I’m so sad.”

Another, Jordan Currie, added: “Never did I ever think I’d be writing this but rest in peace Liam Hendry.

“You did not deserve this one bit, most lovely boy you could ever meet.

“Trying to get this through my head and it just won’t sink in.”

Demi McInnes said: “The kindest most caring soul. Rest easy.”

Liam’s former football coach, James More, shared a picture showing the tragic teen with his teammates.

He wrote: “RIP Liam. My thoughts go to all your family and friends during this tough time.

“I had the pleasure of being your coach for over two years and I’m honestly lost for words at hearing the news.”
