Rangers target Ryan Kent has been left out of Liverpool's 29-man squad for their France training camp.

Jurgen Klopp and his troops fly out this week but will do so without the 22-year-old.

Kent also missed out of the Reds' 3-0 defeat to Napoli in Edinburgh yesterday afternoon amid rumours that the winger will be moved on.

However, despite Kent being touted for a move away from Anfield, it looks likely he WON'T be headed to Ibrox after his manager revealed loaning him out is not an option.

Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has made no secret of his desire to bring Kent back to Ibrox, going as far as to say he'd happily wait until the last second of the window if it meant the deal got done.

But Klopp ruled out a loan and hinted that a permanent transfer would suit the club better.

He said: "The time is over, I think, for loans, because of his age.

"The players need to find a place where they can settle. A loan is not an option.

"That’s probably the situation at the moment, but we will see. A loan is no, only if Rangers can buy him."

Big-hitters such as Mo Salah, Roberto Firmino and Alisson Becker have all returned from their summer breaks to join up with the squad in France.

It comes as Kent had the rumour mill working overtime after unfollowing Liverpool on social media, leaving just one picture on his Instagram from his football career - his celebration for Gers after scoring against Celtic.
