Ex-Rangers defender Graham Roberts has revealed Aberdeen games could be decisive in the Scottish Premiership title race this season - as the Dons 'roll over' for rivals Celtic.

The former player claimed Aberdeen lay down for the Hoops and "let them win" and play above their capabilities against Gers.

Sunday's derby match between Scottish football's big two is the first of the season and will undoubtedly lay down a marker for whichever side manages to come out on top.

But Roberts, 60, reckons Rangers must win more of their clashes with Derek McInnes' men to stand a chance in the title race.

Speaking on talkSPORT, Roberts said: "Steven Gerrard has done an amazing job. He has turned the club around.

"But the games they struggle in is when they go to Aberdeen. They have to win those games because when Celtic go there, Aberdeen roll over and let them win.
