Wet Wet Wet frontman Marti Pellow has insisted he is on the mend after the Scottish band had to cancel their first gig in 30 years.

The Clydebank quartet were due to play Cardiff's Motorpoint Arena earlier this week but they pulled out hours before they were due on stage.

Marti has since took to Facebook to reassure fans that he was just fighting a chest infection ahead of their SSE Hydro gig in Glasgow tomorrow.

Glasgow Times:

He posted: "Hi everyone, thank you for your kind messages and thoughts - I am on the mend.

"You've got to love the tabloids - mystery illness etc...

"I have been fighting a chest infection pure and simple - as a singer it makes it difficult.

"Got medicine so all should be good - let it do it's magic and I will be back singing when I am well.

"We were all gutted we could not do the gig in Cardiff as it's a favourite of ours."

The singer then joked, "Thank you for your understanding... cough cough cough splutter splutter splutter sneeze sneeze sneeze... you get the idea ... on the mend... love to love marti X"

They band also have two other Scottish dates left including Aberdeen's GE Oil and Gas Arena on Sunday, March 13 and Inverness Leisure Centre on Monday, March 14.
