THE heartbroken sister of a man who was murdered in Ibrox has pleaded for anyone with information about her brother's death to come forward.

Claire Watt issued the plea as cops continue to hunt for the killer of James Watt whose body was discovered more than a week ago.

A murder probe was launched by city detectives after James was found dead in a flat on Copland Quadrant on Friday, February 23.

His sister Claire, from Govan, said: "My family and I are urging anyone with any kind of information on this tragic day or the lead up to it, to come forward even to the anonymous number provided.

"No matter how trivial or little you may think it is every bit of information is vital.

"We appreciate all your kind words and gestures, and most importantly your information."

Claire added that her brother's death was "an all time low" for herself and her family.

Detectives revealed on Friday that James had been involved in an altercation hours before his death.

James was in Brighton Place and was involved in an altercation with another man in Clynder Street prior to that.

The argument took place at around 1pm and he was found dead at 10.20pm.

An appeal has since been launched for a man, who was seen in James’ company, to come forward and detectives are urging this man to contact them.

Detective Chief Inspector Suzanne Chow said: “We are grateful for the information we have received regarding James’ movements, however we believe there is still information out there which could assist us in our investigation.

"It’s possible people think we have everything we need, but that is not the case and I’m appealing to members of the local community to get in touch with us.

"Don’t dismiss what you know as insignificant, let us be the judge of that and please do pass the details on.

"Your information could be the vital link we need to find whoever is responsible for this murder."

The Evening Times previously revealed that the community of Ibrox was mourning the death of James who was known locally as Scudger.

Football scarves and flowers were among the tributes to the popular man who was described as a “lovely boy” with a “heart of gold”.

Anyone with any information is asked to call officers at the Major Investigation Team at Osprey House via 101, quoting incident number 4468 of Friday 23 January 2018.

Alternatively, please call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be given anonymously.
